Every decision to sell or purchase a home begins with a thought. And in the very beginning, that is all it can be because you will accumulate more information as you move forward. Maybe you’re thinking about buying your first home. Or perhaps you’re thinking about selling your home and then purchasing something that better fits your current needs. Regardless, the next most likely step is to gather some information. If you are fortunate enough to have a realtor you can trust, you can make that call.
But if you’re a buyer and you don’t know someone, the next step used to be to check out one of the public sites like Zillow and then probably hit a few open houses. After all, you are still in the early stages of your process. But open houses currently do not fit into the COVID world. If you find something on a public site that interests you, but you have questions, the only option appears to be the “contact agent” button.
If you are thinking about selling, again, you may already have a realtor. But if not, most of our clients have safety questions. How can we keep your home safe and market it at the same time? Or, how do you navigate the sale of your current home while attempting to purchase another? Usually, research can answer the broader questions, but eventually, you’ll have to have a conversation with someone to clarify the entire process.
Rebecca & I feel your pain. We know what clicking that button can mean. Calls from multiple realtors that you do not know when you are unsure what your next step is or if you even want to take it. We also know that we look exactly like every other unfamiliar face until we right up until we don’t.
So, we would like to offer you an alternative.
We have a great website that provides a lot of information. You can search up to the minute listings and even set up an alert when a home hits the market that meets your pre-set parameters. You will also find area descriptions, market updates, and local interest information in our dedicated pages as well as our blog. But one of our most important goals is to give you a sense of who we are before you call. We want you to know that while we hope to work with you, we will honor wherever you are in your process. If you are in the research stage but need more specific answers to your questions, we invite you to call with our commitment that we will never attempt to pressure you into doing anything you’re not ready to do.
In the end, we know that it is entirely possible to have thought about buying or selling a home only to do a little research, ask a few questions, and then determine that now is not the best time. After checking us out, we hope you will feel comfortable enough to give us a call, tell us where you are in your process, and let us know how we can help you sort through that process. In doing so, you would be allowing us not only to show you how we can help but also demonstrate that we will treat you with all the respect anyone should expect.
